The New York Association on Independent Living (NYAIL) and Center for Independence of the Disabled, New York (CIDNY) invite you to a FREE webinar on Thursday, April 11, from 2:00-3:00PM.The topic is Medicaid Buy-In for Working People with Disabilities (MBI-WPD).The webinar is presented courtesy of Community Health Advocates (CHA).Greg Otten, the CHA Coordinator at CIDNY, will lead the session.
MBI-WPD allows people with disabilities who work to receive Medicaid benefits even if they earn more than Medicaid normally allows.Independent Living Centers frequently assist consumers with MBI-WPD applications and recertifications.Because the program is often poorly understood at the local Medicaid offices, we will explore advocacy strategies to ensure appropriate access.Topics to be covered will include eligibility criteria, documenting income, and proving disability. We will also go over new Medicaid disability forms for those without a disability determination from Social Security.
Community Health Advocates (CHA) is funded through the Affordable Care Act and administered by the Community Service Society to educate consumers and advocates throughout New York State about their options regarding health coverage and access to care.NYAIL and CIDNY are partnering to expand CHA services statewide. If you would like assistance on an individual case or to schedule a CHA presentation, please contact Greg Otten at 1-877-228-1198 (tollfree).
