NYAPRS Note: Click here for a chart that gives a look at 2015-16 budget provisions, with information related to NYAPRS’ position and advocacy on each issue. The legislative season continues to move forward as lawmakers work on bills that do not require budget approval. NYAPRS continues to work with fellow advocates to encourage late-session reforms.
Of particular importance to NYAPRS and the recovery community this year was the continued appropriation and expansion of Crisis Intervention Teams in NY. We are grateful to Mental Health Committee chairs Senator Robert Ortt and Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther for their support of this initiative, and for enhancing the CIT budget four-fold for the project’s continued success.
We look forward to bringing you a final end-of-session report that includes legislative movements with no budget resolutions, which may include resolutions around Raise the Age and the Mental Health Tax Check Off. Stay tuned!
