Dutchess County Graduates First Class in Crisis Intervention

Dutchess Graduates First Class in Crisis Intervention

On Friday, June 26th, the first class completing the 5-day, 40-hour Dutchess County Crisis Intervention Team Training received their certificates along with appreciation from Dutchess County officials. The training educates police officers on how to effectively interact with individuals who are in crisis due to mental illness. Thirty-seven law enforcement and corrections officers, representing the New York State Police, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Dutchess County Jail, Dutchess County Office of Probation & Community Corrections, and the Town of Poughkeepsie, City of Poughkeepsie, Town of East Fishkill, Town of Hyde Park and Town of Rhinebeck police departments, completed the program, hosted by the Dutchess County Criminal Justice Council’s Diversion Committee.
