Keynote by Robert Whitaker, author of the influential books Mad in America: Bad Science, Bad Medicine and the Enduring Mistreatment of the Mentally Ill; and Anatomy of an Epidemic: Magic Bullets, Psychiatric Drugs and the Astonishing Rise of Mental Illness in America; (book signing at lunch)
Presentation to Shery Mead in appreciation of her work and contributions to redefining the values inherent in and the delivery of peer-directed services. This is also an opportunity for attendees to share their reflections on Shery’s impact in their lives.
Overview of approaches to be available during break-out sessions in afternoon.

Break-out sessions featuring individuals with substantial experience managing and providing services in the following approaches. Small group format allows opportunities to network, share information and learn about implementing and incorporating these approaches in one’s community.
All groups reconvene together to summarize day and discuss next steps
