New York’s healthcare system is a fast moving train to a value based payment system, where the vast majority of providers will be paid based on their success at helping people improve their health and reduce their reliance on avoidable costly care.
New York’s licensed Medicaid PROS initiative integrates rehabilitation, treatment and support and includes a clinic component which, taken together, should make PROS programs particularly valuable in this outcome based environment.
There’s still time to register for next week’s NYAPRS Annual PROS Academy, where top government officials and experts, like DOH’s Greg Allen and OMH’s Bob Myers (see below) will look at how best to shape and market this innovative model.
