We are very pleased to welcome and introduce our readers to our new Policy Specialist Tom Templeton.
Tom comes to NYAPRS with a background in both counseling psychology and juvenile justice policy. He has worked with an array of groups in a variety of settings, particularly with inner city youth aged 4-24 and their families. Most recently, Tom worked at the National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice at Policy Research Associates, where he helped coordinate the USDOJ funded Defending Childhood State Policy Initiative aimed at reducing the impact of and improving the response to violence and trauma on children.
I’ll give Tom the last word here: “When the opportunity arose to work at NYAPRS, I jumped at it. Based on my personal and professional background and my passion for policy and advocacy, this is the perfect fit. I am very excited for this opportunity to serve our community and advance our agenda here in New York and nationally.”
Welcome Tom!
