Dec 7 Albany Summit: ‘WIOA: What’s It All About’

NYAPRS Note: The NYS Rehabilitation Association and the NY Association of Training and Employment Professionals are holding a one-day summit on Monday, December 7th at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany, NY entitled, “WIOA: What’s It All About.”  

The Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), signed by President Obama, is aimed at increasing opportunities, particularly for those facing barriers to employment, and invests in the important connection between education and career preparation. One-Day Summit

The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center, Albany, NY

NYSRA and NYATEP are delighted to invite you to a one-day summit to support the connection, coordination and collaboration of the disability-serving community and the workforce system. 

 

This event, sponsored by the NYS Rehabilitation Association (NYSRA) and NY Association of Training and Employment Professionals (NYATEP) will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 9:30AM-3:00PM at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Albany.

 

The agenda will include:

  • an overarching overview of the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA); 
  • a discussion about Career Center Services including sector strategies, customer services, and business services;
  • examples of existing partner promising practices will be provided and ample time for question/answer discussions and interaction with colleagues from across the State!
