NYAPRS Note: Since 90% of the determinants of our health derive from our lifetime social and physical environment-not from the provision of health care- healthcare systems must place addressing these social determinants at the top of their agenda. NYAPRS is very pleased to feature 2 of our nation’s most prominent experts in this area at our upcoming Annual Executive Seminar:
Jeff Olivet, M.A., President/CEO of the Center for Social Innovation is a national leader on homelessness, poverty, affordable housing, behavioral health, public health, and HIV. He has been a street outreach worker, case manager, housing director, coalition builder, writer, teacher, and activist. His work with hundreds of organizations across the United States and internationally has helped to improve strategic planning, organizational management, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Ruth Shim, MD, MPH is Vice Chair, Education and Faculty Development and Chief of Outpatient Services, Department of Psychiatry, Lenox Hill Hospital and an Associate Professor, Hofstra North Shore – LIJ School of Medicine. Dr. Shim has previously served as Associate Director of Behavioral Health at the National Center for Primary Care, dedicated to promoting optimal health care for all, with a special focus on underserved communities and as Co-Director of the Southeast Addiction Technology Transfer Center, a regional center established by SAMHSA to improve the quality of addictions treatment and recovery services.
This discussion will be moderated by our own nationally acclaimed Board member and Community Access CEO Steve Coe. See below for program and registration information….and see you at the Seminar!
