Don’t Miss All Hands on Deck: Black Lives Matter! Panel at Tomorrow’s virtual NYAPRS Conference: Still Time to Register!

September 23, 2020 by The Alliance for Rights and Recovery

‘Don’t Miss All Hands on Deck: Black Lives Matter!’ Panel at Tomorrow’s virtual NYAPRS Conference:
Still Time to Register!

Please see the attached final program schedule for our annual Virtual Conference that will be held TOMORROW September 24th as well as next Tuesday and Thursday, September 29 and October 1. Please note that we will be holding evening programs as well on the 24th and 29th.

Entitled “Rise Up! Community, Connection, Culture”, the Conference program is especially intended to address the isolating consequences of social distancing and quarantine required by COVID-19 as well as our long overdue need to confront the pervasive impact of racism in ourselves, our systems and our society.

Accordingly, tomorrow’s program will feature a very timely panel presentation entitled ‘All Hands on Deck: Black Lives Matter!’ that will include Hawk Newsome, Chairman, Black Lives Matter of Greater New York; Jeff McQueen, Mental Health Association of Nassau County; Chacku Mathai, Center for Practice Innovations; Celia Brown, NYS Office of Mental Health and Jerome Wright, New York Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement. Our presenters will explore the impact of centuries of racist beliefs, policies and practices and will identify strategies to address them across our society and especially within local communities and mental health and criminal justice systems from across the nation.

All Hands on Deck: Black Lives Matter!’ will be held tomorrow September 24 at 11:30am-12:45pm.

See the attached final program and register today at  https://tinyurl.com/y5s5935p.
Please note that, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, there’s no charge to register
with the exception of those seeking Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, CPRP, and CRCC CEs.

See you TOMORROW!
