Friends of Rights and Recovery,
As you may know, I have served on the Board of Trustees of the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law for over 15 years because the Bazelon Center’s mission of advancing and protecting the rights of children and adults with mental disabilities is critically important to me and rights and recovery advocates across the nation. Last year, the Bazelon Center celebrated 50 years of legal advocacy in health care and mental health care, education, housing, voting rights to name a few – and is expanding its portfolio to AI and immigration.
I am writing to invite you to join me this year at the Bazelon Center Awards along with an incredible group of Awardees. Please see the invitation below. This is the Bazelon Center’s annual event and it will be held on September 17 at 6:30pm ET in person in Washington, DC at the National Press Club. The Awards recognize and celebrate leaders in social justice, law, disability rights, mental health and more including our own Director for Public Policy and Engagement Luke Sikinyi!
