MMNY: Continue to Fight Massive Cuts to Medicaid!

February 14, 2025 by The Alliance for Rights and Recovery

Alliance Alert: Our Alliance for Rights and Recovery has been a longtime member of Medicaid Matters New York, New York’s only statewide coalition dedicated to advancing the interests of Medicaid beneficiaries.
Please join MMNY members in our full out fight to protect Medicaid funding during this perilous time!

(learn more about the benefits of MMNY membership and join today at https://medicaidmattersny.org/membership/!)

Medicaid Matters members,
The budget reconciliation process is proceeding in Washington.  Massive cuts are on the table, and Medicaid is the prime target.  We must continue our efforts to bring the importance of Medicaid to the NY Congressional delegation.

Our coalition letter to the delegation has been sent and can be found here.  Feel free to share it and use it as a template for your own letters to Congress!

In addition to continuing to complete and share our action alert, you are strongly encouraged to reach out to your U.S. House members directly.  Schedule meetings in their district offices, attend their community events, and call their offices urging them to protect Medicaid.

You may continue to refer to the Federal issues page on our website, which is updated regularly with new materials.

One new tool I will specifically draw your attention to is a fact sheet by Georgetown Center for Children and Families, entitled “Medicaid is Vital to New York.”  Share it, post it, and bring it to the attention of your House reps!

Please reach out with any questions.  Thank you, as always, for taking action, especially at this critical time.
Lara
