From our friends at Mental Health America. Please act today!
Your help is needed again to overcome devastating cuts to Medicaid, the number one payer of mental health and substance use services. This week, the Senate released its bill to extend President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, and unfortunately, the bill makes even deeper cuts to Medicaid than the House bill passed last month. We have been successful in beating back Medicaid cuts in the past, and we need your help again, even if you sent a letter earlier this year.
The chamber is on track to pass steeper cuts by the 4th of July holiday deadline, so we need your help to tell Congress that the public does not support cutting Medicaid funding to states. Medicaid is a bedrock of the public mental health system and is shown to help keep people in recovery and employed. Should this bill pass, at least 15 million people are estimated to lose their health plan. Please call and send a message to your Senators TODAY to tell them to oppose cutting Medicaid.
Thank you for being a champion for mental health and for the millions who rely on Medicaid!
