Alliance Alert: From our allies in the HALT Solitary campaign: please act today! Stop the suffering!
Take Action Today for Black & Pink Member in Solitary
From our allies at Black & Pink: “We need your help! One of our dear inside members, Jenna, is being held in solitary confinement. Jenna is a trans woman who has been caged in men’s prisons for over a decade. A sergeant at Shawangunk C.F. is falsely accusing Jenna of threatening to fight a correctional officer. This sergeant referred to Jenna as a thing and asked other incarcerated people why they let a tr**ny live there when she would be killed in other facilities. There are video and audio recordings of these interactions that will show Jenna’s abuse at the hands of correctional officers. Putting the survivor of abuse in the SHU is yet another violation of the HALT Act. Jenna is devastated about these false accusations.
Tell superintendent John Wood to get Jenna Lancaster out of the SHU!
Email: john.wood@doccs.ny.gov
Phone: 845-895-2081; ext 2000
Script: I am contacting you to demand that Jenna Lancaster, DOC#13B0805, be removed from the SHU. There are video and audio recordings of Sergeant Brown and Officer O’Neil harassing Jenna, using slurs and referring to her in derogatory ways, intimidating her, and lying about her behavior. These are PREA violations and placing Jenna in the SHU is a violation of the HALT act

We need YOU to help make it as powerful as possible. So RSVP today at https://bit.ly/parolejustice2026
On this advocacy day, we’ll uplift our vision for safety and justice rooted in reuniting families and meeting peoples’ needs–not endless punishment. We’ll be boarding buses from across the state and gathering in Albany for marches, rallies, and a press conference, as we call on the New York State Legislature to pass the Fair & Timely Parole (S159/A127) and Elder Parole (S454/A514) bills. (Read more about the bills in a one-pager here.) We’ll be uplifting incarcerated New Yorkers who have been denied a fair chance at parole release and are subject to the perpetual punishment in NY prisons, hearing their stories from their loved ones throughout the day.
Food and transportation will be provided.
Justice cannot be denied in 2026! #ParoleJusticeNY NOW! This is the year we must summon all of our people power to get these bills to the floor for a vote, passed, and signed into law!
Invite others! In addition to RSVPing, please also forward this email to 5-10 people you know and encourage them to join!
