Alliance Alert: We are excited to share an upcoming opportunity to connect, learn, and advance the peer support movement: the 3rd Annual Peer Support Profession Summit, taking place May 19–20, 2026 in Niagara Falls, NY.
This important and cost-effective professional development event will bring together hundreds of organizations and leaders from across New York and North America to explore the growing impact of peer support across mental health, substance use recovery, family and youth services, and beyond.
We are especially proud to share that Alliance staff will be part of this year’s program. Our Chief Strategy Officer, Shannon Higbee, and Chief Operating Officer, Len Statham, will be among the presenters, contributing their expertise and lived experience to conversations shaping the future of the peer support profession.
This year’s theme, “Lifting Up Individuals and Communities through the Lens of Inclusion,” highlights the critical role that accessible, culturally responsive, person-centered, and trauma-informed peer support plays in fostering healing, resilience, and recovery. As systems continue to evolve, peer support remains central to building services that are grounded in trust, dignity, and community connection.
