NYAPRS Note: New York has been developing a proposal for a new Medicaid waiver that will feature a strong focus on the social determinants of health, racial equity and value-based payments that drive system change over the next 5 years.
Accordingly, NYAPRS is very pleased to announce that Trisha Schell-Guy, Director, Division of Program Development & Management at the NYS Department of Health, will be offering a keynote presentation on the second morning of our April 26-27 Annual Executive Seminar that will provide an update on where the state is regarding its 1115 Medicaid waiver request, with a special focus on the behavioral health aspects and impacts of the waiver.
Following her Keynote, Trisha will participate in a panel, Perspectives on New York’s Next 1115 Waiver Program, along with Robert Myers, Senior Deputy Commissioner, NYS Office of Mental Health; Lara Kassell, Coalition Coordinator, Medicaid Matters NY; John Javis, CEO, Behavioral Health New York City IPA; Amy Maciejowski, Senior Program Manager, State Affairs and Public Policy, National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and moderated by, Harvey Rosenthal, CEO, NYAPRS. The panel will build on the keynote presentation and discussion and look at how the new waiver program incorporates lessons learned from the development of HARPS, Health Homes, Home and Community Based Services and Value-Based Payment arrangements.
