Alliance Alert: This year’s election is less than three weeks away! By registering to vote, you are taking the first step in exercising your right to participate in the democratic process. Voting empowers you to influence decisions on issues that matter most—healthcare, education, justice, and more! Every vote counts and registering ensures that you can make your voice heard in upcoming elections. Importantly, voting is good for your health, both mental and physical! Don’t miss this opportunity to stand up for your rights and help create a more inclusive and representative democracy.
The Alliance continues to work to ensure we get the word out and support people to register and go out to vote! We will be offering more resources to register, plan, and get to the ballot box to vote. Join NYC Votes, The Alliance for Rights and Recovery, Disability Rights New York, and New York City Black Deaf Advocates this Friday (10/18) evening at 6pm for a virtual education session Voting and Taking Action in the 2024 Election where we will discuss the importance of voting for the cross-disability community, explain what is on the ballot this year, and outline your rights when voting. We encourage everyone to attend, but note that some of the information given, like certain ballot measures, will be specific to New York City. See below for more information, including the link to join the virtual session this Friday!
