The Alliance for Rights and Recovery is thrilled to announce Mark Travis Rivera as the Keynote Speaker for the 2024 Rehab & Recovery Academy.
Mark, at his core, is a storyteller, and does this through dancing, writing, consulting, and public speaking. Mark is a leader in the LBGTQ+ community earning multiple awards from William Paterson University and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. His message: Embracing the power of story to create a more inclusive world.
Mark draws on his personal experiences as a dancer with cerebral palsy to build a bridge between the main dance field and disability dance. As a writer, he shares his message by writing for The Bergen Record, Herald News, The Star-Ledger, Fox News Latino, and the Huffington Post. As a speaker, he has addressed diversity, equity, and inclusion at various institutions of higher learning such as Harvard, MIT, Rutgers, and NYU. His consulting services have been utilized virtually around the world by corporate audiences in various countries such as the US, UK, Canada, Latin America, Israel, China and India.
