ABOUT THE EVENT:
Trauma affects all aspects of society, and the Federal Government is addressing this issue in some very cross-cutting ways. This webinar is the first of a three-part webinar series sponsored by the Women and Trauma Federal Partners Committee. This first webinar will discuss the work of the Women and Trauma Federal Partner’s Committee; highlight the impact of the Committee’s work through an initiative launched by the Peace Corps, one of the participating agencies on the Committee; and highlight additional materials and resources.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Policymakers; Administrators; Service Providers from health, education, workforce, justice, military, housing, emergency management, and other systems; Federal and State representatives, Employers, Stakeholders with an interest in Women and Trauma, and the general public
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Participants will:
Better understand the scope and depth of the impact of trauma in the lives of women and girls
Describe the purpose of the Women and Trauma Federal Partner’s Committee
Identify key activities and accomplishments of the Committee
Understand core components of a trauma-informed approach
Discuss one of the many impacts of the Committee’s work through the educational initiative of the Peace Corps
Identify strategies to leverage the Women and Trauma Federal Partner’s Committee as a resource for their own work to address the impact of trauma and to implement trauma-informed approaches.
