A note from our friends at Community Access:
Dear Fellow Peers and Providers,
Community Access is pleased to announce Howie the Harp Advocacy Center’s expansion into continuing education. This exciting new initiative is designed to offer professional development opportunities to the growing number of working peers looking for career advancement, as well as to help provider organizations prepare and train their peer workforce in the changing environment of Medicaid redesign.
Our initial course, Peer Leadership and Supervision, will be offered twice this Fall. The first session will be October 6th – 10th at Howie the Harp in Harlem. The second session will be offered November 3rd – 7th in Brooklyn (location to be announced). Both sessions will be held from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day of the week. This 25 hour course is free of charge to participants.
Please review the attached application for our Peer Leadership and Supervision course and share them widely – particularly those who you believe are prepared to take on a leadership role. Each applicant is asked to secure an agency recommendation as well as approval to attend the one-week program. The deadline for submission is September 19th, and we will let applicants know if they have been accepted into the program by September 26th.
If you need additional information or have questions, please contact Jennifer Coffey, our Continuing Education Coordinator, at jcoffey@communityaccess.org.
