NYAPRS Note: The below awaited news from DOH offers revised guidance regarding the VAP exception form for DSRIP-involved providers; a new form for provisional 1915i safety net providers and Health Homes (and their contracted agencies) will be offered by DOH tomorrow, 10/17, and will be due next Friday, 10/24. This exception form is being offered to community providers in anticipation of CMS’ approval of the state methodology to include future Medicaid-billing providers as fully valued safety net providers. We recognize that this process demonstrates the commitment to fully include future 1915i community BH providers into Performing Provider Systems.
More information related to the state 1915i designation process toward managed care and DSRIP inclusion will be reviewed on a call with NYAPRS members on 10/30. If your organization is not a NYAPRS member and you’re interested in joining us to support recovery and benefit from our technical assistance, policy related guidance, and organizational support, learn more at http://www.nyaprs.org/join-us/index.cfm .
Dear MRT Listserv subscribers:
The deadline for the VAP Exception has been extended to 5:00 pm, October 24, 2014, instead of October 17, 2014. This extension is due to the numerous concerns we are hearing and the need for further instructions for certain provider groups. The Department will be creating VAP Exception forms expressly for the HCBS/1915i service providers and the State designated Health Homes and Downstream Care Management Agencies. The revised forms will be made available on our website on Friday, October 17, 2014, and we will inform you through this listserv as soon as the forms are posted. Please understand that if you already completed and submitted a VAP Exception form, you do not have to complete a revised form. We are working to update our website to provide a section containing the approved Safety Net Exception entities and a second section containing those pending. This will provide insight as to where your organization stands in this process. We apologize for the inconvenience.
If questions arise related to the Vital Access Provider Exception or DSRIP safety net process, please send an email to BVAPR@health.ny.gov. All other questions can be directed to DSRIP@health.ny.gov.
Sincerely,
The NYS DSRIP Team
