SCHOLARSHIPS
There are a limited number of federal scholarships available. Applications for scholarships are now available online!
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), through a contract with Westover Consultants, Inc. (Westover), and AFYA, Inc. (AFYA), is providing financial support to consumers of mental health services who wish to participate in the Alternatives 2012 Annual Conference. SAMHSA reserves the right to cancel scholarships at any time.
The purpose of this scholarship is to foster the transformation of mental health care to focus on recovery.
Please Note: To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a US citizen and identify as a mental health consumer.
A completed application must be received by U.S. Mail, postmarked on or before the deadline of June 5, 2012. Applications will not be accepted past the deadline.
NO FAXED OR E-MAILED SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Scholarships cover: flight, hotel, per diem, full conference registration and ground transportation reimbursement.
Submit your applications early! Incomplete applications will be returned until the deadline date.
Scholarship recipients will be notified August 3, 2012.

The theme of Alternatives 2012 is “Honoring Our History, Building Our Future.” The theme reflects honoring the efforts and achievements of the past while embracing and supporting the growth of new programs and services.
Each Alternatives conference offers in-depth technical assistance on peer-delivered services and self-help/recovery methods.
