NYAPRS Note: At this October 10’s Destination Dignity March, people personally affected by mental health and substance challenges step forward, along with supporters and communities from across the country, to demand change for the health of our nation.
We will join our voices to call for an America in which every person affected by mental health challenges is valued in their communities and supported with the right kind of help when and where they need it. We will call for a national strategy for social justice and dignity to counter the history of discrimination and stigma.
On October 10, our speakers will include Judge Ginger Lerner-Wrenn, Arthur Evans, Cheryl Sharp and Keris Myrick along with musical support from Mike Skinner. Hundreds of others are on their way, along with busloads from New Jersey, Virginia and New York.
Last year, NYAPRS and our member agencies sent 3 busloads of spirited marchers….this year, we are supporting 4 from LI and NYC.
