Medicaid Reform Funding Totals $7.4 Billion
Crain’s Health Pulse June 22, 2015
After plans to overhaul New York’s Medicaid program left some city hospitals feeling shortchanged, the state Department of Health recalibrated its DSRIP awards to the state’s 25 Performing Provider Systems. The result: $7.4 billion in payments, including $4.1 billion to networks in New York City.
The PPS led by the Health and Hospitals Corp., OneCity Health, came out on top, with a $1.2 billion award. The highest nonpublic PPS valuation went to physician-led Advocate Community Partners, which received $700 million for a network that is collaborating with North Shore-LIJ. Two hospitals that balked at the initial allotments, Maimonides and Mount Sinai, received $489 million and $390 million, respectively.
