Division of Mental Hygiene – Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
PROJECT DIRECTOR- BEHAVIORAL HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECT
The Division of Mental Hygiene (DMH) in the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is headed by the Executive Deputy Commissioner and is responsible for overseeing programs and services regarding mental health, substance use and developmental delays and disabilities. We work with approximately 1,000 community programs, advance policies that benefit the people we serve, and collaborate with City and State partners to prevent or reduce the burden of these conditions and promote recovery.
In anticipation of future changes in behavioral health care due to Medicaid reform and emerging models of care coordination and integration, New York State has identified the critical need for behavioral health providers to obtain the capacity to electronically bill for Medicaid eligible services. New York State and DOHMH are joining efforts in a 2- year funded project to deliver technical assistance for the adoption, implementation, and use of electronic solutions for approximately 50 behavioral health organizations that currently do not have access to electronic solution systems. There is strong potential for this program to be extended and to become a part of DOHMH, requiring the individual to meet DOHMH residency requirements.
In collaboration with the Fund for Public Health in New York (FPHNY), a not- for-profit corporation serving as program partner with DOHMH to implement and advance public health initiatives, the Office of the Executive Deputy Commissioner of DMH, is seeking a highly skilled, innovative Project Director who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project.
