NYAPRS Note: First off, we want to highlight that, once again, CEUs are available for social workers, certified rehabilitation counselors and certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioners who attend specified presentations at our conference.
We’re so excited about this year’s keynoter lineup at our Annual Conference, ‘Stand Up Together for Recovery!,’ which will run from Wednesday to Friday, September 13-15 at the Hudson Valley Resort in Kerhonkson.

Tom’s talk will focus on “On Solid Ground and Peering into the Future.”
After lunch Thursday, we’ll hear powerful person stories and reflections from 4 of the nation’s top leaders in our movement and field, ‘mother of the movement’ Gayle Bluebird and Steven Samra of the Center for Social Innovation and 2 of NYAPRS’ own, Chacku Mathai of the Star Center and Jeff McQueen of the MHA of Nassau County.
On Friday morning, Lynnae Brown of the Howie the Harp Advocacy Center will discuss how reframing one’s personal story is a potent self-advocacy tool for formerly incarcerated people, helping to repair relationships, gain employment, change policies, and improve restoration strategies and services in her talk on “Free Your Mind and the Rest Will Follow – Reframing the Incarceration Experience.”
