NYAPRS is very happy to add Tom Coderre to our lineup of featured speakers at our April 19-20th Annual Executive Seminar in Albany. Tom is nationally known for his many contributions to advance substance use recovery related policies and programs. He has served SAMHSA’s Chief of Staff as well as Senior Advisor to the SAMHSA Administrator. He previously served as Field Director for Faces and Voices.
Most recently, Tom was recently appointed to serve as Senior Advisor to the Office of Rhode Island Governor Gina M. Raimondo, where he is helping to lead the fight against the opioid epidemic.
We’re also very pleased that Dr. Pablo Sadler and Chacku Mathai will be also part of this year’s program. Pablo serves as Mental Health Medical Director, Bureau of Mental Health at New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Chacku recently assumed the post of the new CEO for the Mental Health of Rochester.

Tom, Pablo and Chacku join NYS Medicaid Director Jason Helgerson, the National Council’s Rebecca Farley, Vice President for Policy and Advocacy, National Council for Behavioral Health, Jennifer Mathis, Deputy Legal Director and Director of Policy and Legal Advocacy, Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, Elizabeth Misa, Deputy Medicaid Director and convener of the Department of Health’s new Bureau of Social Determinants of Health, Stephanie Campbell, Friends of Recovery-NY, Laverne Miller, Policy Research Associates and Kate Breslin, executive director of the Schuyler Center for Advocacy and Analysis. They will join keynoter Dr. Elinore McCance-Katz who leads federal behavioral health policy as the first HHS Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use, Father, Advocate and Author Pete Earley and NYAPRS new Policy Director Elena Kravitz.
