QUALIFICATIONS: |
Transfer: Candidates must be permanent in the Mental Health Program Specialist 1 title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 18 level. Open Competitive: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree and two years of clinical or administrative post degree experience in a federal or State operated or State licensed mental health program, or a satisfactory combination of such experiences. A Master’s Degree in a mental health related specialty; or in public administration, business administration, or hospital administration may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Candidates who are current or former recipients of mental health services and who have a strong track record of documented accomplishments and leadership within the consumer/survivor movement, including self help and/or advocacy, are strongly encouraged to apply. Persons with lived experience of recovery from mental illness should inquire about qualifying through the New York State Civil Law’s 55-B process for hiring of persons with disabilities. A valid NYS driver’s license is required. |
