Thanks to your efforts throughout the legislative session, the NYS legislature passed the standardized prior authorization bill A.10248B/S.7384A, which will make it easier and more likely for Medicaid beneficiaries to get their drug of choice in the new Medicaid managed care drug program environment.
But in order for this bill to go into effect, Governor Cuomo must now sign it into law.
Please help us protect Medicaid beneficiaries’ choice, by asking Governor Cuomo to please sign bill A.10248B/S7384A, requiring the Department of Health to create a standardized form that all Medicaid Managed Care plans would have to use for the pharmacy benefit.
The standardized form will cost the state nothing and will help reduce the barriers that patients and providers face when it comes to prescription drug access, by streamlining the process.
However, there currently are organizations actively opposing this legislation and it is imperative that you voice your support to the Governor and ask that he sign this important bill into law. Here is a link to the bill: http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?bn=A10248&term=2011
