NYAPRS and MHANYS are joining forces to urge support to urge government to resume its long time commitment to back funding for Community Mental Health Reinvestment to support our efforts to try and address ever mounting mental health needs in the wake of COVID-19. The Legislature has proposed adding back proposed budget cuts in several areas but there is still no consensus on reinvestment funding. We are concerned that without the link to bed closures, the community will lose $22 million in reinvestment funding. This funding has been utilized to help pay for crisis services, peer programs, supported education, residential beds, supported employment, family services and much more. Please raise your voice in support!
