NYAPRS Note: The Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion is seeking young adults (aged 18 to 30) with serious mental illnesses to participate in the ConnectionsRx program. ConnectionsRx is a technology-based, distance intervention aimed to increase community participation of emerging adults (18-30 years old) with serious mental illnesses. Participants will be enrolled in the study for 6 months and receive support to help meet community participation goals. All interviews done with participants will take place on Zoom with a research assistant and last approximately 60 minutes. See below for more information.
Join ConnectionsRx Program to Boost Community Inclusion
Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion invites young adults aged 18 to 30 with serious mental illnesses to participate in the ConnectionsRx program. This intervention aims to enhance community participation among individuals facing conditions such as bipolar disorder, major depression, or schizophrenia spectrum disorders.
To be eligible, participants should meet the following criteria:

Age between 18 and 30

Diagnosis of a serious mental illness

Proficiency in English

Willingness to engage in social-media peer support and distance-based community participation

Access to a cell phone
Qualified participants will undergo three research interviews, each lasting approximately 60 minutes. As a token of appreciation for their time, they will receive a $30 gift card for each completed interview.
In addition, participants may enroll in a 6-month online program designed to help them explore and plan for increased community recreation involvement. This program includes bi-weekly 1-1 phone or video meetings with a recreational therapist and access to a peer support Discord group.
