The Commission on Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities is seeking new members for its Advisory Council. Members of this council advise and assist the commission in developing policies, plans and programs to carry out its functions, powers and duties. The Council may consider any matter related to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities.
The Commission is seeking individuals with one or more of the following credentials:
- lived experience receiving services;
- a family member who has a disability;
- professional knowledge in the provision of services, supports, and/or advocacy to persons with disabilities.
The Advisory Council meets at least four times a year as a full council and members are encouraged to participate in subcommittees working on issues of concern between full Council meetings. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
