April 4 OMH Webinar: Getting Involved in NYS MH Planning Process

March 22, 2012 by Chris Liu-Beers

Real World Planning:

Getting Involved in the

5.07 process

Join us for a Webinar on April 4

This webinar will introduce people to the 5.07 planning process and highlight how recipients and families can participate in our annual planning process this May.

Section 5.07 of New York State law requires a statewide comprehensive planning process involving each separate office of the Department of Mental Hygiene.  Under the Mental Hygiene Law, the planning process begins with statewide goals and objectives through collaboration with the Mental Health Services Council (MHSC). The counties, including New York City, then develop priorities and plans consistent with these goals and objectives.  These plans serve as a foundation for statewide planning and are informed by input from a number of other sources. These sources include policy advisory boards, oversight bodies, the courts, the legislature, stakeholder groups, and professional and trade associations.
