Event Description
This webinar is part of SAMHSA’s Center for Financing Reform and
Innovations (CFRI) Health Reform Innovations Learning Collaborative
activities. The goal of this Learning Collaborative is to promote
statewide coalition building among state mental health and substance use
stakeholder organizations and to encourage organizations throughout the
state to work together to understand and educate their community members
on how health care reform is implemented within their state.
On May 15, the CFRI Team will host the first of four webinars in this
series. This webinar will provide participants with a basic overview of
health insurance and coverage concepts. By participating in this
webinars state stakeholders will gain a better understanding of:
1. The risk components of insurance;
2. Types of health insurance coverage available;
3. The structure of different insurance options;
4. The linkage between the insured / insurer / provider; and
5. Where to find state specific resources for state mandated
benefits
