SAMHSA’s GAINS Center Awards Training Opportunities to 16 Communities Nationwide
On March 19, 2012, SAMHSA’s GAINS Center issued a solicitation for applications for How Being Trauma-Informed Improves Criminal Justice System Responses trauma-informed training deliveries and training of trainer events, as well as for Sequential Intercept Mapping workshops. After a highly competitive process, the GAINS Center is pleased to announce the jurisdictions selected to receive these free trainings to improve their behavioral health and criminal justice systems:
Sequential Intercept Mapping Workshop
– Fresno County (Fresno), California
– Ada County (Boise), Idaho
– Wyandotte County (Kansas City), Kansas
– Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians (Habor Springs), Michigan
– Kansas City, Missouri Municipal Courts
– Deschutes County (Bend), Oregon
How Being Trauma-Informed Improves Criminal Justice System Responses Delivery
– Pima County (Tucson), Arizona
– Ocean County (Toms River), New Jersey
– Rappahannock Regional Jail and Chesterfield County, Virginia
How Being Trauma-Informed Improves Criminal Justice System Responses Training of Trainers
– Denver Area, Colorado (17th, 18th Judicial Circuits, City and County of Denver)
– Washington, District of Columbia
– Chicago Area, Illinois (16th, 17th, 19th Judicial Districts)
– Region 3 Behavioral Health Services, Central and South Central Nebraska
– New York State Unified Court System, Central New York (Auburn, Ithaca, Syracuse)
– Erie County (Buffalo), New York
– Summit County (Akron), Ohio
Trainings will take place between June and September 2012. SAMHSA’s GAINS Center would like to congratulate the accepted communities, as well as thank all applicants for their submissions.
