Bazelon: Voting Rights Tool Kit for People w Disabilities

NYAPRS Note: The following comes to us courtesy of our friends at the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, including links that provide:

 –       Charts re state laws affecting voting rights of people with mental disabilities, voter challenge laws, absentee ballot laws, and relevant state court forms.

–        A model letter to state election officials alerting them to voting problems faced by people with mental disabilities, and describing federal laws that protect the voting rights of people with mental disabilities.

–        Model materials for people with mental disabilities and their advocates to use when challenging voting restrictions imposed on people under guardianship.

–        A draft cover email to use when sending these materials to other advocates.
