This webinar will present the most common areas of the New York State Mental Health System. The focus will be on adults, but most of the webinar will be generalizable to all of the OMH system. The mental health system has been described as fragmented and confusing.People who come for help, as well as their families have often reported that first contact with the system was not positive. This webinar will attempt to address that confusion and help to make sense of the various program types, state and community programs, local programs, and federal programs. We’ll define and explain what they are responsible for and how they interact with each other and within the system as a whole.
The Presenter will be Tony Trahan, Advocacy Specialist II, at the Office Of Consumer Affairs in the NYSOMH.
