Paolo del Vecchio

Paolo del Vecchio, MSW, is the Director of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)’s Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS). SAMHSA is the lead federal agency designed to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities. A self-identified mental health consumer, trauma survivor, and person in recovery from addictions, Paolo has been involved for over 40 years in behavioral health as a consumer, family member, provider, advocate, and policy maker.

Will Hall

Will Hall is an internationally recognized schizophrenia survivor and leader in training and advocacy on recovery and mental diversity. Author of the Harm Reduction Guide to Coming Off Psychiatric Drugs and host of Madness Radio, Will has trained agencies, professionals, and peers in more than eight countries in practical tools for recovery. Khatera Aslami-Tamplen

Khatera Aslami-Tamplen has lived experience with public and private mental health systems and recently joined Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services as the Consumer Relations Manager. Previously, Khatera was the Executive Director of Peers Envisioning and Engaging in Recovery Services (PEERS). In this capacity, she oversaw many successful programs including Alameda County’s Social Inclusion Campaign, the WRAP program, TAYi, and the Tobacco Harm Reduction Program. In 2012 Khatera co-founded the California Association of Mental Health Peer-Run Organizations. Khatera was born in Afghanistan. Click here to view a recent television interview with Khatera.

Keris Myrick – Our teleconference moderator

Keris Myrick is the president and CEO of Project Return Peer Support Network, a peer run organization in Los Angeles County. She currently serves as the President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness’s board of directors and has consulted with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration on a number of initiatives, including Dialogues on Psychotropic Medications and BRSS-TACS (Bringing Recovery Supports to Scale–TA Center). Keris has a PhD(c) and MS in industrial-organizational psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and a MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
