The NYAPRS Cultural Competence Committee is pleased to announce that our first recovery story is posted on the NYAPRS website in the Culture Matters section of the Cultural Competence page at http://www.nyaprs.org/cultural-competence/documents/Culturemyrecoverystory.pdf.
This story is part of our ‘Culture Matters in My Life Journey’ campaign which is an invitation for people of any race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender expression in recovery from psychiatric disabilities and/or co-occurring substance abuse to share their stories and the impact culture has played in their recovery.
If you would like to participate in this exciting campaign, please submit your original work to Teena Brooks at teenab@nyaprs.org. and complete the consent form that is located on the culture matters section of our website.
The Cultural Competence committee meets every third Tuesday of the month. Please join us for our next call on June18, 2013.
