Consumer Link has been providing an array of peer services for 20 years. We are pleased to announce that we will be opening a new and innovative Peer Respite House (name to be determined). A respite house is a wellness-oriented service offered in a comfortable, home-like environment where services are available 24/7 and guests can stay for 2 – 5 days to deal with emotional crisis among supportive peer staff. The goal of the program is to assist individuals to break the home to hospital chain – to utilize discomfort as an opportunity to find solutions and to grow in recovery rather than move into crisis.
We are interviewing for various positions (paid and volunteer) in the house and are particularly in need of individuals willing and able to work through the night.
HOUSE MANAGER: Responsible for assisting with (and overseeing, when necessary) all aspects of the overall administration, operation, management, and development of the Peer Respite House.
Brief Qualifications/Experience: Bachelors Degree, preferred. Previous experience supervising and work history providing peer support services, preferred. Current or former experience with mental health system and willingness to share personal and practical experience/ knowledge. Well-developed understanding of recovery vs. illness based system. Vision of hope for, and comfort with, people experiencing crisis/emotional distress.
PEER COMPANION (full time and part time): Utilize personal experience and respite training to guide individuals toward personal recovery strategies through mutual peer support and companionship. Instill hope, support wellness and demonstrate that recovery is real. Support the belief that crisis is an opportunity to reduce or eliminate involvement with emergency room and/or inpatient hospital settings. Availability for emergency staff coverage a plus.

PART TIME AND PER DIEM WARM LINE WORKER: Answers warm line providing support, information, and guidance in problem resolution. Believes that mutuality is the best tool for each individual to best benefit from support. Assesses and responds to emergent nature of call, if necessary. Availability for emergency staff coverage a plus.
