Dear Friend,
Alternatives is the premier national mental health conference organized by and for those in the mental health consumer/survivor/peer recovery movement. Alternatives 2013 will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas, from Wednesday, December 4, to Saturday, December 7, 2013. The theme of Alternatives 2013 reflects the importance of valuing each individual as we build inclusive communities. Alternatives 2013 will serve as a catalyst for reenergizing communities by providing opportunities to share skills and information about innovative peer-delivered supports, community-building initiatives, mental health recovery, wellness, and systems change.
The CAFÉ TA Center would like to let you know about scholarships that are currently available from SAMHSA that can make it possible for you to attend. In order to apply for this scholarship you must be a mental health consumer and a United States citizen. You will also need to obtain a letter or recommendation. The deadline for this opportunity is next Monday, July 22nd!
Information about this scholarship opportunity can be found on the Alternatives 2013 website at http://www.power2u.org/alternatives2013/scholarships.html. For general information on Alternatives 2013, visit http://www.power2u.org/alternatives2013/index.html.
Because of new rule changes at SAMHSA, The CAFÉ TA Center is not permitted to directly fund the participation of consumers in Alternatives 2013. So if you are interested in attending, make sure to apply for a scholarship before next week’s deadline!
Yours,
The CAFÉ TA Center
