The Regional Centers of Excellence Steering Committee
The Regional Centers of Excellence (RCE) Steering Committee is composed of the fifteen co-chairs for each respective RCE Team (Western NY, Central NY, Hudson River, New York City, and Long Island), along with several statewide stakeholders representing peers, children & families, providers, local governmental units, advocacy organizations, and key State agencies and departments. A list of the Steering Committee membership can be accessed here. RCE Team membership lists are still under development.
The role of the RCE Steering Committee is to advise the RCE Teams on their recommendations to the Commissioner, and to advise and assist the Commissioner of OMH in the review and approval or modification of these recommendations.
The RCE Steering Committee will meet for the first time in August 2013 for an orientation by key OMH Executives, and to offer their advice and recommendations for the work of the RCE Teams which will begin in the fall. A second meeting of the Steering Committee will take place at the conclusion of the meetings of the RCE Teams, to receive and discuss the recommendations of the Teams. The RCE Steering Committee meetings will be accessible to members of the public online or via call-in. OMH will post meeting dates, relevant materials and recordings of meeting proceedings on this website.
