Academy of Peer Services-New Online Courses Beginning Soon!

January 10, 2014 by Chris Liu-Beers

NYAPRS Note: With the federal shift toward tighter regulatory controls through ACA measures, more states are seeking to transition communities with specialty health needs into managed care environments. In an effort to provide better care with better outcomes, managed care offers plentiful opportunities, but also restrictions and rules on how services must be provided. Many states are in the midst of creating peer credentialing programs to ensure excellence within the peer workforce in order to meet the demands of managed care. NY’s Academy of Peer Services has launched their courses online. See below for details, and be sure to register by February 4!

The Academy of Peer Services (APS) is pleased to announce the 2014 launch of the New York State Peer Support Provider online courses!  All 1st Term courses (modules) will open for registration on January 21, 2014. You will have until February 4, 2014 to self-enroll in the module(s).  Please visit the APS homepage at http://www.academyofpeerservices.org to view the module descriptions.

These state-of-the-art multimedia, interactive modules have been developed by leading experts in the field and have been designed to supply practical knowledge and skills to support your role as a peer provider.

Be sure to review the documents entitled “Course Offerings 2014” and “How To Enroll in Courses” available on the APS homepage  for more information.

If you have any questions, please contact Tara Davis at TaraD@nyaprs.org or at 518-436-0008 x221 .
