This past week, SAE staff members attended two meetings related to the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program and NYS health care reform. 

The Upstate Medicaid Waiver Informational Session took place on February 24, 2014 in Albany. Like meetings in Long Island and planned in NYC, this session was led by Greg Allen of DOH who noted the historical nature of this unprecedented opportunity and the importance of collaborative planning on behalf of applicant networks. Single organizations cannot apply. The presentation also addressed several areas of the DSRIP that may be adjusted based on continued refinement with CMS. 

SAE also attended the February 26th MRT Behavioral Health Workgroup Meeting in NYC. This meeting included a report on Phase 1 of the State’s managed care implementation process and provided an overview of plans for Phase 2, leading up to NYC implementation in January 2015.

Community Needs Resource for Providers

The NYS Department of Health (DOH) has posted data derived from Medicaid and Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs), including information like Medicaid member access patterns, which can inform natural partnerships. An updated, more detailed Data Portal, is planned for August.
