BH & Criminal Justice Certificate Program in NYC

NYAPRS Note: Enroll for this free academy if you serve individuals who have experience in the mental health and criminal justice systems to learn about cross-system collaboration and trauma informed practices.

NEW: Academy for Justice-Informed Practice

Behavioral Health – Criminal Justice
TRAINING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

 

 

 

This new 7-module curriculum provides foundational information for behavioral health, alternative to incarceration, and reentry professionals seeking to improve their knowledge and skill in working with clients with mental illness and criminal justice involvement.

Training is free of charge. Follow these steps:

? ENROLL in the program
? REGISTER for all modules
? COMPLETE all Core modules
? RECEIVE a Certificate of Completion

Core Training Modules – (These modules count toward Certificate requirements)
Note: Core Modules will be offered 5 times throughout a year. You may take all of the modules at once or over a period of time.

April 25 (9:30-12): Understanding and Navigating the Criminal Justice System

April 25 (1-3:30): Reducing Recidivism and Promoting Recovery: Understanding and Addressing the Factors that Contribute to Re-arrest

May 1 (9:30-3:30): Trauma-Informed Care for Justice-Involved Clients

May 8 (9:30-12): Sensitizing Providers to the Effects of Incarceration on Treatment

May 8 (1:00-3:30): First Person Perspectives – From Incarceration to Recovery

May 15 (9:30-12): Understanding Violence: Assessing and Managing Risk

May 15 (1-3:30): Parole, Probation, and Behavioral Health System Collaborations
