NYAPRS Note: Excellent news from DOH on DSRIP planning; new information has been posted on the application materials for design grant funds for emerging Performing Provider Systems. Work with your lead agency (or find one) to ensure submission of a grant application by 6/17. Funds will help communities plan through a community needs assessment process, select valuable projects, prepare resources, and submit final applications. Furthermore, utilize the resource provided below from the Office of Mental Health to review local and systems data that will help you and your partnering providers prepare for the community needs assessment.
Application materials and more information on DSRIP Design Grants is now available.
The DSRIP design grants will make available funding to emerging Performing Provider Systems to develop comprehensive DSRIP Project Plans. To apply for these planning funds, the lead applicant from interested coalitions must submit a DSRIP Design Grant application to BVAR@health.state.ny.us by June 17, 2014. Please note that any coalition who receives a DSRIP Design Grant is required to submit certain deliverables over the course of the DSRIP planning phase, culminating in a DSRIP Project Plan application in December 2014.
For application materials and more information, please visit the DSRIP Design Grant webpage at: http://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/medicaid/redesign/dsrip_design_grant_appl.htm.
A DSRIP Design Grant Application webinar will be scheduled for next week and announced through this listserv.
Data from OMH to assist with community needs assessment and development of PPS projects:
The DSRIP program will promote community-level collaborations and focus on system reform, specifically a goal to achieve a 25 percent reduction in avoidable hospital use over five years. OMH has made behavioral health planning data available on its Web page for DSRIP applicants.
