NYAPRS Note: Trauma isn’t only associated with extreme adverse experiences, but is related to the environmental conditions that form our world from the time of birth. Foundational relationships and experiences that are based in the success or failure of our social structures to protect and promote the well-being of individuals are the basis for the way we process information and relate to the world as we age. Dealing with trauma must be preventative, but also therapeutic; find resources below to understand trauma and how to work with it, from individual relationships, to service provision, to organizational and systems change.
