Title: Alternatives 2014: Game On!
Description:
The National Mental Health Consumers’ Self-Help Clearinghouse has signed a contract with the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida, and will be hosting a national mental health conference there from Wednesday, October 22, 2014, through Sunday, October 26, 2014! Although the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration approval process has not yet been completed, the conference is on! A Conference Committee will soon be convened and a call for papers will be issued as soon as possible. For more information contact Susan Rogers at srogers@mhasp.org .

Title: Now Is the Time: Minority Fellowship Program- Youth
Application Due Date: May 14, 2014
Description: The purpose of this grant program is to reduce health disparities and improve behavioral health care outcomes for racially and ethnically diverse populations by increasing the number of culturally competent master’s level behavioral health professionals serving children, adolescents, and populations in transition to adulthood (aged 16-25) in an effort to increase access to, and quality of, behavioral health care for this age group.

Description: The purpose of this grant program is to reduce health disparities and improve behavioral health care outcomes for racially and ethnically diverse populations by increasing the number of culturally competent master’s level addiction counselors available to underserved minority populations with a specific focus on transition age youth (ages 16-25) in public and private non-profit sectors.
Title: Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training for Paraprofessionals
Application Due Date: June 3, 2014
Description: This announcement solicits applications for the FY 2014 Behavioral Health Workforce Educating and Training (BHWET) for Paraprofessionals grant program. In support of the White House’s Now is the Time initiative, this grant program aims to expand the mental health and substance abuse workforce targeting children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth at risk for developing or who have developed a recognized behavioral health disorder.
Application Due Date: June 13, 2014
Description: The purpose of this program is to improve access to treatment and support services for youth and young adults ages 16-25 that either have, or at risk of developing a serious mental health condition.
