NYAPRS Note: As you know, NYAPRS and our colleague groups have been working for months to see that 1915.i/Home and Community Based Services providers attain full-fledged Vital Access Provider (safety net provider) status in the state’s DSRIP program. As such providers are in the process of gaining formal designation as an approved 1915.i provider, the state has created an ‘exception’ process by which prospective 1915.i providers can apply to get VAP status. DOH has just released info and a link about that process below.
NYS 1915.i providers should complete the form by clicking here and send it to BVAPR@health.ny.gov ASAP (no later than this Friday at 5:00 to apply for that status, which should advance your standing and role within your local DSRIP Performing Provider Systems (PPS) initiatives.
Dear MRT Listserv Subscribers:
The revised VAP exception forms expressly for the HCBS/1915i service providers and the State designated Health Homes and Downstream Care Management Agencies are now available at https://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/medicaid/redesign/dsrip_safety_net_definition.htm
The deadline for the VAP Exception has been extended to 5:00 pm, October 24, 2014. Please understand that if you already completed and submitted a VAP Exception form, you do not have to complete a revised form.
If questions arise related to the Vital Access Provider Exception or DSRIP safety net process, please send an email to BVAPR@health.ny.gov. All other questions can be directed to DSRIP@health.ny.gov.
Sincerely,
The NYS DSRIP Team
