FEGS has been a long time, very supportive NYAPRS member whose staff have touched the lives of thousands of people with psychiatric disabilities. - FEGS will officially close in April.
- It has $200+ million contracts in NYC and $114 million across the rest of the state.
- It has been serving 135,000 individuals annually.
- The state has responsibility for ensuring continuity of care for those being served under state contracts.
- Under state oversight, the state agency that holds the contract has the responsibility for bringing in other nonprofits to assume contracts.
- FEGS has $80.4 million in contracts with the NYS Office of Mental Health and $16 million with the state Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. It has $10.6 million with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and $146 million with the NYC Department of Social Services.
