1. Baltic St. Job Posting – Peer Advocate
For Brooklyn Peer Advocacy Program
Baltic Street AEH, Inc., seeks applicants for one position of part-time Peer Advocate. The person will perform advocacy services for and with consumers of mental health services in a program that provides a wide network of Peer Advocacy services
Essential Functions:
- Provide linkages to services including Mental Health, Legal, Housing, Education, Medical, Social, and Financial Services, etc.
- Aid recipients to obtain services for themselves.
- Facilitate and co-facilitate recovery and self-help groups, which includes sharing one’s own recovery story/experience with consumers, and functioning as a role model exhibiting competency in personal recovery
- Work with clients via phone and walk-in.
- Persist and follow through until cases are complete.
- Outreach to communities.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Peer Advocate, or other related experience.
- Knowledge of self-help techniques.
- Basic working knowledge of mental health services.
- Good reading and writing Skills.
- Clean drivers license a plus.
- Office and computer skills are required.
- Bilingual a plus
- High School Diploma or GED required

2. Bellevue Hospital:
Outpatient Psychiatry and Substance Abuse Assistant Director of Social Work
LCSW and supervisory experience required
- Administrative and program development experience a plus and knowledge of OMH and OASAS clinic regulations helpful.
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to Social Work staff in a variety of outpatient psychiatry and substance abuse programs.
- Must be a multi-disciplinary team player.
On Track- First Episode Psychosis Program Employment/Education Specialist:
BA/BS minimum
- Community Liaison – 4 positions requested
- Training and experience with providing employment/educational placement and services for adolescents and young adults with serious mental illness required.
- Strong engagement and job development skills needed.
- At least 65% of time is in the field/community

3. Peer Specialist Positions Available
Pilgrim Psychiatric Center has several part-time positions open for qualified Peer Specialists in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Responsibilities include:
- Group facilitation
- Individual supportive counseling
- Advocacy for clients as needed
- Greeting new admissions to ease transition
- Note writing on all groups and individual sessions
- Monthly department meetings
- Other responsibilities specifically related to Peer role
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Lived experience with the mental health system and/or mental illness
- Significant progress in personal recovery
- Awareness of the recovery model, trauma-informed care, consumer movement
- Strong communication skills
- Enrollment in Peer Certification Process through the Academy of Peer Services, completion of the majority of online modules with expectation for completing Provisional or full Certification by or around start date.
- Basic proficiency with computers including email and document programs such as Microsoft Word.
